LONG TERM EVOLUTION (LTE): impacting mobile technologies
and services
Module designed and coordinated by Prof. Sami Tabbane, Professor at "École Supérieure des Communications de Tunis" - SUPCOM (Tunisia).

dates & Location:

2 days - September 24-25, 2009, Sophia-Antipolis (French Riviera)

Who should attend?
Anybody developing solutions or services relying on Wireless Infrastructure: solutions Providers, Heads of Security from various industries….

What will you learn?
The 2 days training will allow participants to acquire the technical issues, from the hardware design to the services integration in a multi-system environment but also get to know the services market environment allowing identifying the opportunities and potential of LTE system.

Key topics:
Standards - Architecture - 4G - Mobile Communications

Presentation:
The evolution towards mobile broadband services combined with the constraints related to the co-existence of multiple networks and radio systems (GSM/GPRS, UMTS, WiFi, Bluetooth, WiMAX …) have conducted to the LTE (Long Term Evolution) standard that should succeed to UMTS.

This training session intends to present the main characteristics of LTE standard as well as the motivations and constraints (technique and market ones) that have motivated its specification. A dedicated focus will be made on the security aspects of LTE and on their impacts on the development of new handsets, software platforms and security software.

Academicals experts having for most of them experience with the industry and experts working with operators who are faced to the choices for new technologies and the introduction of new services have been selected to conduct this seminar.

The 2 days training will allow participants to acquire the technical issues, from the hardware design to the services integration in a multi-system environment but also get to know the services market environment allowing identifying the opportunities and potential of LTE system.
