IP&TV World Forum, the world’s leading connected entertainment event, is set to be the best yet in 2012 following the announcement of keynote speakers from MTV, NBC Universal and Sony Network Entertainment. Focusing on the rapidly converging TV market, next year’s event will unite global players in the broadcast arena to provide unrivalled insight into the IP & Connected TV industry.
It will provide international networking opportunities with service providers and broadcasters from varied platform backgrounds – Smart TV, OTT, cable, satellite and terrestrial TV – to compare experiences and brainstorm solutions for delivering multiscreen and multiplatform services.
The focus on connected entertainment and utilising social TV will be echoed by Kristin Frank, General Manager of MTV and VH1 Digital. The developed focus for 2012’s IP&TV World Forum reflects the evolving marketplace and will give delegates invaluable insight into new industry trends while giving them the opportunity to connect with peers and potential customers.
As digital entertainment extends from the living room and the laptop to everywhere people wish to enjoy it, the digital marketplace is transforming and the convergence of content, technology, services and the experience is the crucial nexus.
IP&TV World Forum boasts a unique, innovative and case study driven programme featuring over 280 speakers, which is divided into four tracks focused on content business : IP opportunities, multiscreen entertainment, new user experience management and networks and architecture for TV.
The inevitable rise of IP delivered TV continues. OTT is not only a mainstream delivery medium, it is now so pervasive and compelling that all service providers, whether fresh to TV or with entrenched managed TV infrastructure investments, are seeking to harness over the top to enhance their on-demand offerings. Multiscreen and On-the-Go TV are now must-have services, with broadcasters competing on the level of integration and personalisation that their service offers. The arrival of traditional TV manufacturers as OTT service providers through their “Smart TV” products has further enriched the choices available to consumers. Cablecos are also now implementing IP, seeking a killer combination of their interactivity and addressability with their high bandwidth infrastructure.
IP&TV World Forum is unique in uniting the varied players in the broadcast landscape to advance the opportunities presented by IP delivery. The event brings together broadcasters from a wide variety or platform backgrounds – smart TV, OTT, cable, satellite, terrestrial, & telco–to-network, compare experiences and brainstorm solutions. The conference is incredibly rich in service provider case studies : not only did 180 different service providers present in 2011, but the conference attendance was over 50% service provider companies, providing a uniquely high value networking experience.
