Conference focus
There is a strong momentum in the telecom industry as carriers make the shift to providing voice and other services over an emerging SIP network infrastructure. One of the challenges for carriers is to transition in stages to a SIP-based core network and related applications, while leveraging existing infrastructure and providing a package of services for both traditional and IP phone users. This creates, in turn, the need for interworking of protocol variants and the need for multi-generation products as well as causing pricing pressure in all aspects of the service providers’ business. The migration from traditional systems into new architectures has become a prominent topic of discussion.
